Team Managers - General Info

Team Managers are the backbone of every successful hockey season. They help keep things running smoothly off the ice so players and coaches can focus on the game. Each team has one or more managers who work closely with coaches, parents, and the association to ensure a positive experience for everyone.

WHY TEAM MANAGERS ARE SO IMPORTANT

  • Communication Hub – Managers keep parents informed about schedules, updates, and team events.
  • Organization & Scheduling – From practice changes to tournament details, managers help everything stay on track.
  • Support for Coaches – By handling logistics, managers free up coaches to focus on developing players.
  • Building Team Culture – Managers help plan team bonding activities, organize volunteers, and foster a strong sense of community.
  • Link to the Association – Managers ensure each team is connected with the larger goals and updates from the Northfield Hockey Association.

LOCKER ROOM MONITOR

USA Hockey requires that at least one same-sex adult be present to monitor the locker room during all team events. This adult is known as a Locker Room Monitor (LRM) and plays a key role in ensuring a safe and positive environment for all players. Please review and become familiar with the requirements needed for LRMs (see Locker Room Monitor page).

SHATTUCK ST. MARY GAMES

Shattuck Reminders:  As we prepare for upcoming games at Shattuck St. Marys, here are some important reminders and responsibilities to ensure everything runs smoothly:

  1. Officials Assignment: Please make sure you have access to the Arbiter website to check that officials are assigned for all of your scheduled games. If you notice any home games at Shattuck without an official assigned, reach out to Greg at mrhockey24@charter.net so he can address it promptly.
  2. Game Essentials:
  • Shattuck iPad: There is an iPad at the Northfield Ice Arena in the room between the concession area and that other room. Someone will need to bring this iPad to your game. After the game, please return it to the same location as soon as possible and make sure it is plugged in to charge.
  • Pucks: Reminder that Shattuck does not provide pucks. Managers and coaches, please bring enough pucks for warm-ups and gameplay.
  • Penalty Box, Scoreboard & Clock: We will need volunteers to operate both penalty boxes, scoreboard and GameSheet on the iPad. Please coordinate a volunteer or two in advance to handle these tasks.
